In this, my brilliantly inspired and lovingly spun adaptation, I pay lush and sweeping homage to the original, more poignant trajectory of what I believe to be the most enchantingly dark love story ever written. Set against the backdrop of a mystical underwater kingdom, I've reimagined every beat of our mermaid's fabled surfacing to meet a modern world beside the sea, and find her prince on the salty shores of a small town on the western coast of Canada. Lovesick Little speaks of the exquisite pain of loving things just out of reach, while delivering a sobering snapshot of humanity in the twenty-first century, and the tumultuous marriage that binds people to their oceans.
